Lucas joined PNTB in October 2013 as the organization’s first organ perfusionist. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2006, and a Master in Biomedical Science - Human Donation Science in 2013, both from the University of Toledo in Ohio. He previously worked at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in the patient transport department for 12 years. Lucas says, “I am extremely grateful to be a part of developing the perfusion department at PNTB. Working in the OR is my favorite part of the donation process. Having the opportunity to see the recipient when I deliver their kidney is a rewarding because it provides a chance to see the joy at the end of a tragic event.” In his free time Lucas enjoys going for walks with his wife and his dog, photography, video games, and traveling the country.
