Clinical Coordinators

PNTB’s organ procurement coordinators respond in person to referrals from hospitals to review a patient’s medical history and determine medical suitability for organ donation. Coordinators collaborate and partner with hospital staff to determine when timing is appropriate to speak with a patient’s family about donation options. Additionally, PNTB procurement coordinators conduct medical management of a donor patient, place organs for transplant according to the national waiting list, coordinate incoming surgical teams, assist in the operating room during organ recovery and arrange transportation.
