Hospital and Family Services Manager
Barbara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada in 1978. After several years of critical care nursing, she embarked on a career in law and graduated from the College of William and Mary School of Law in 1983. For many years she practiced law, primarily focused on the defense of hospitals, physicians and nurses in medical malpractice lawsuits as well as other personal injury defense work. Looking for a more rewarding career, she applied at PNTB as an Organ Procurement Coordinator in 1995. Still grateful for the leap of faith PNTB took in hiring her after many years away from the critical care setting, Barb is now the Hospital and Family Services Manager . She is married, the mother of three children, two biological sons and an adopted daughter from China. Reading, hiking, and enjoying trips back to extended family in Canada pretty much occupy what time there is left after work and kids.
